Suffering from Alzheimer’s Disease is, of course, one of today’s great fears for many people. Consequently any positive results from research in Alzheimer’s is welcomed. All to often we have had big claims made for alleviation of the symptoms as well as cures. However, these have regularly proved to be nothing more than snake oil and have led to false hops for some.
It seems that perhaps these claims in the following article, which includes a news video, may have some substance:
“When scientists look back to the first quarter of the 21st century, they may marvel at what was accomplished in the treatment and prevention of Alzheimer’s Disease. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia and is reaching global proportions.” http://www.voanews.com/media/video/1147371.html
The Voice Of America article is well researched
The Voice of America is well researched, so I think that there report holds water and perhaps we will look back and see these revolutionary changes come through – starting with prevention. We live in hope.
It is a terrible disease, not only for the sufferers, but also for the carers.
